Clockwork Screed are a highly professional, family-run, business specialising in the supply and installation of liquid floor screeds and poured insulation throughout Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and North Wales.

We are keenly aware that the construction industry and buildings account for around 39% of global greenhouse gas emissions. We are committed to operating as sustainably as possible and have invested in innovative new technologies to optimise our performance, reduce wastage and minimise our environmental impact. We are particularly proud of the part we are playing in the adoption of renewable heat technologies, such as heat pumps, with the underfloor heating solutions we are helping to install.

With over thirty years of experience in the construction industry, we understand the importance of timing. As our name suggests, we pride ourselves in running like clockwork; being on time, every time, to ensure your project progresses as smoothly as possible.

Daniel O’Connor,

Director

Having joined New Mix Concrete in 2015, before moving to Clockwork Screed, Daniel could be considered a relative newcomer to the concrete/screed industry but his enthusiasm, strong work ethic and a keen desire to learn has quickly earned him a sound knowledge and strong understanding of the trade. Dan is a passionate advocate for a greener, more environmentally friendly approach to construction and he is committed to exploring any new ideas and potential developments to support these essential methods.

Last year he successfully completed a foundation degree in concrete technology and is now studying for a master's in Advanced Concrete Technology at the University of Leeds. During his time in the industry, Daniel has experienced batching and delivering concrete and screed to various locations in and around Manchester and Leeds.

He has also experimented with recycled aggregates, cement substitutes and concrete abrasion technology.

Mal O’Connor,

Director

Before Clockwork Screed, Mal has an impressive wealth of knowledge and experience in the concrete industry, having founded New Mix Concrete with his business partner in 1983. The pair set up the business with just one truck, a unique and sound business acumen and an exceptional work ethic which saw them successfully expanding the business organically over a number of years.

The ongoing success of the company led to the opening of three depots and the development of a fleet of specialised trucks which notably contributed to the revolution of transportation and distribution of concrete in the UK. For twenty years Mal had a second business venture as the director of industrial flooring company ABS Brymar.

This business enabled Mal to acquire and enhance high level skills and invaluable experience in the management, delivery and installation of significantly sizeable concrete slabs throughout the UK. His venerable reputation, admirable ability, professional approach and exceptional expertise in the placement of flooring and the operation of concrete delivery is outstanding and unrivalled in the industry.

Katie O’Connor,

Director

Katie is a business professional with high level management, organisational and administrative skills. Katie has a refreshing can-do attitude and her optimistic, confident approach to both problems and challenges inevitably results in positive outcomes.

She has enhanced and developed her skills and knowledge considerably whilst employed in various roles since successfully completing a four-year bachelor’s degree in Public Services at Manchester Metropolitan University.

After completing her degree course Katie travelled to Vietnam where she taught English in primary schools and thoroughly enjoyed living and working in the local community.

Katie’s experience of the concrete industry began in 2012 when she was employed at ABS Brymar Floors and she is now expending her excellent business skills and expanding her knowledge of the industry at New Mix Concrete, and now Clockwork Screed.
